Home Styles

There are a of number of different communities within Reston Station, here is a summary of the units that can be purchased, the rest are apartments (for rent only).

• Union Towns Reston Station

Union Towns were constructed and originally sold by The Knutson Company, a local builder whose specialty is townhomes. This section was finished in 2022.

Knutson only built approximately 26 townhomes, and they have a striking modern design with light brown/tan all brick exterior and dark trim.

The Union Towns have 2 different models, The Hayden and The Chadwick. The models are very similar, differing on the main floor placement of the kitchen.

The townhomes are 4 levels. The entry level has a rear garage and a rec room/office or bedroom with a half bath. The main level has a fully open floor plan, and a central or rear kitchen and half bath. The 3rd level features a bedroom level with an owners suite and luxury bath and large 2nd bedroom. The 4th level is a loft and has another bedroom, full bath.

On the top level is a rooftop terrace, and some of the homes were built with an optional fireplace and wet bar just inside. Union Towns are equipped with a 2 car rear loading garage.

The interior finishes vary with what was selected or modified by the owners, but for the most part have a modern feel.

There is a dog park and some green space in the community to relax.

• Townhomes at Reston Station

This section of 115 townhomes was built by another local builder, EYA. They are renowned for building townhomes and condos in highly walkable urban areas. EYA was an ideal fit for Reston Station.

EYA built 3 models here: The Anderson, The Baker and The Conrad.

The Anderson is the smallest model, and The Baker & Conrad are larger.

EYA’s townhomes are similar in style to Union Towns, but have some more options. The entry level has varying level of finishes depending on the model and owner’s selections. Some feature a bedroom/office and full bathroom.

The main level utilizes fully open floor plans, with some variation in the kitchen but all have a large central island.

The owner’s suites vary in size but have a full bathroom and multiple walk in closets.

The loft level has rooftop terrace, and The Conrad features a very large terrace. The other models have a bedroom on the loft level. Some terraces are equipped with a retractable awning.

One of the big benefits of buying one of the EYA townhomes here is the fact that The Baker & Conrad models are equipped with an elevator that runs to all 4 levels.

So if you like the idea of a townhome but are not excited about the stairs, this is a great option.

• Lofts at Reston Station

The Lofts at Reston Station is a building of 32 single level condos built by national builder Pulte Homes.

The units are in a sleek modern building with clean lines and some contrasting colors in the siding. The units themselves were built to upscale with large windows, open concept, entertaining areas and large gourmet kitchens.

The building has an elevator and is professionally managed.

The condos vary in size and finishes.

Pulte also built some 2 level condos next door to the Lofts, which have a different layout.

Living in Reston means you will be a part of the master HOA. This includes access to multiple pools, outdoor basketball, tennis and other sport courts, lakes, community centers and much more.

• Wiehle-Reston East Metro

The communities mentioned here were developed because of the arrival of the silver line metro. The fact that you can walk to this station is the main attraction.

If you go into Tysons, DC or another town for work, you can metro. You can go downtown for a night out, to see a show or sporting event, meet for lunch, etc.

Being able to walk to the metro opens a whole world of things to do without having to drive.

• Restaurants & More Right Next Door

Reston Station is a mixed use development, meaning there are also businesses here.

This means you will find a selection of restaurants (both high end and quick eats), banking, retail, medical offices, a post office, gyms and more.

• Job Market

This area is highly sought after by professionals, because of the easy access to the metro and also the fact that there are many large buildings occupied by prominent corporations.

Google and BAE Systems have leased buildings that are easily walkable, along with many other companies.

Reston itself has many opportunities beyond the immediate area as well.

• Reston Town Center

This large town center has a huge selection of restaurants, shops, large corporate offices, events, entertainment and more.

It is a 5 minute drive away, or if you are up for a walk you can get there on the trails.

• Plaza America

Between the town center and Reston Station is Plaza America, which offers another selection of stores and shopping. This is a great option for grocery, as there has long been a Whole Foods here.

There are more large companies with office space here as well.

• Trails & Recreation

If you are a biker, hiker, runner or just want to get out for a stroll, Reston has an extensive trail system, many wrapping around lakes and other natural scenery.

The W&OD Trail, which runs all the way from Ashburn to Arlington, runs right across Sunset Hills.

There is also ice skating, multiple gyms of varying sizes and specialties and other recreation walkable to the area.

Selling Your Home
