There are more townhomes built in the community than single family homes. Therefore, if you want a single family home act fast when you see one for sale.

The community was completed in 2021, and their area a large variety of different finished on the homes from the original construction and from owners updating the properties.

A Modern Farmhouse Community: Prosperity Plains

Prosperity Plains has some of our favorite properties in in Chantilly. The community consists of townhomes and single family homes.

The modern farmhouse style gives some rural charm combined with the floor plan that is expected of a community built in 2020: open, bright and spacious.

Townhomes in Prosperity Plains

The townhomes in Prosperity Plains come in two models, however there is a lot of variation within those two models. The models are called The Holt and The Carver.

The different front elevations (fancy way to say how the front of the townhome looks) give a lot of eye catching options.

There are different roofline styles, different color bumpouts, different style and color of siding and some have stone that covers up to the first level.

The dark gutters and black metal awnings give them a sleek look and good contrast.

Once you are inside, the biggest difference between The Holt and The Carver is on the main level. The Carver has a kitchen that is in the center of the living space. While The Holt has the in a corner, slightly closed off with the stairwell from the rest of the entertaining area.

Both still have a very open concept and area for guests by the kitchen.

Both models have a very unique option which is sought after in the neighborhood. The first level has an option for a walk down rec room in the basement.

This will give you a 12 foot ceiling, and a flex room off to the back of the rec room. The high ceiling makes it feel like a small “great room” and gives it a feeling of abundant space.

With the 12 foot ceiling option, the garage enters into the front hall instead of a mudroom.

The other has a more typical 9 foot ceiling in the basement.

Some of the basements are finished off as a suite with a bedroom and full bathroom.

The main level is fully open, and the Carver has the kitchen as the centerpiece. A large central island ties together the living room and dining. Both give abundant space.

The upstairs features two good sized bedrooms and a master suite with a good sized bathroom and walk in closet.

Prosperity Plains Single Family Homes

The detached homes in the community are equally striking on the outside. Similar to the townhomes, the have different elevations and color schemes. There is more metal roofing with longer awnings.

The Parr serving as one of Prosperity Plains model homes in January of 2020 during sale of the new community in Chantilly VA. You can see the metal roof on the lower section that extends to the awnings. Van Metre sold this model after all the homes were complete.

The largest model in the community is the Parr single family home, the other model is the Grandin.

Both have a large kitchen in the corner with the massive stone island that is signature of 2020 homes.

One great feature of the Parr is that Van Metre put a main level bedroom in some of the homes of this model. This trend started in the 2010s as a way to allow the home to be more functional for the owners for a longer period.

The garage of the single family homes enter onto the main level, with a basement featuring large rec rooms and 1-2 bedrooms.

The upstairs of both models have 4 bedrooms, and a master suite with a luxury master bathroom.

These homes are big and open, with a similar modern farmhouse style of the townhomes.

Amenities

Salt water pool. The community has a salt water pool, which reportedly has some health benefits over chlorine.

Exercise area and clubhouse. Attached to the pool is an exercise room with cardio and resistance equipment.

Multiple playgrounds. Also known as “tot lots”, there are areas for the little ones to scamper.

Walking trails and community garden. Prosperity Plains borrowed the garden idea from some other large planned communities. Walking trails if you have a dog or want to take a stroll.

What is Nearby

Schools. Directly out the back of the community is both Liberty Elementary and Freedom High School. Middle schools are a quick drive up the road. Check your boundary locator for more info.

Paul VI. One of Northern VA’s sought after Catholic schools, the site is being built right across Braddock Rd from Prosperity Plains.

Dulles Airport. An international airport, with a metro that runs all the way to DC and Maryland. And many other major Northern VA towns.

Town Centers. The community is easily accessible by car to many town centers offering shopping, dining and entertainment.

Golf. Multiple courses are closeby.

Parks and horse country. Bull run park is just to the south, with some historic civil war sites. Driving west on route 50 will bring you to the quaint old town Middleburg with shopping, dining and beautiful estates.
