Finding School Boundaries
Many prospective home buyers are wondering what school district that there home is in.
Many websites pull data directly from the MLS and other relevant sources to give homeowners a list of schools nearby.
This is a great resource. I am very pro internet and pro homebuyer, so anything that gives you more information with less of a hassle is a good thing in my book.
However, it is not unheard of for a website to have either outdated school information or narrowly miss the boundary for one reason or another.
Sometimes it is a boundary rezoning, other times it is just an error in the MLS where someone typed in the wrong school.
Here is the truth about these kinds of errors in websites/MLS: it is on the buyer to do their due diligence before closing to find out as much as is relevant about the home.
This includes verifying school boundaries. I always tell all of my clients looking to verify the school boundaries with this Fairfax County School boundary locator.
If the school is in another town, say Alexandria, then you can find their locator by doing a simple google search.

Robert Frost Middle School
Robert Frost Middle School is located at 4010 Pickett Road in Fairfax Virginia, right behind Woodson High School and across the street from Fair City Mall.
Named for the poet, Robert Frost, the school serves over 1,100 students for 7th and 8th grade.
Frost Middle School runs many after school clubs. Over the years this has included a Step Club, Anime Club, Video Game Club, Dumbledore’s Army (Harry Potter Fan Club) and many others.
Since it is right behind Woodson High School, most of the students will transfer there for high school, although a few might go to surrounding schools like Thomas Jefferson High School.
The surrounding area is excellent in terms of both housing and shopping. Fair City Mall, one of the best and most eclectic shopping centers in Fairfax County, is just across the street.
Fair City Mall has lots to do, both entertainment, fitness, food and more.
And just down the street, off Pickett, is the Fairfax Ice Rink, which is an awesome place to go for some ice skating fun any time of the year.
Frost Middle School takes a large number of students from the Mantua area, which is a huge subdivision across the street filled with unique and varying styles of houses.
With no HOA and lovely treed lots, there are also many new homes that have popped up in the neighborhood.
The neighborhood is surrounded by parks; Woodburn Road Park, Eakin Park, and Mantua Hills Park; which gives it a very comfortable and beautiful atmosphere.
And although Mantua is huge, because each house is so different and unique, the entire neighborhood is pleasant to drive through, with a new style of home on every street.
The school has historically been fed by Mantua Elementary School, Olde Creek Elementary School, Little Run Elementary School, and Wakefield Forest Elementary School.
Frost Middle School has received high ratings over the years as an excellent middle school on sites like greatschools.com.
